Bog Mud, or just Mud:

Sunscreen and protection against harsh elements and heat:

" Chimantou warned them that a dangerous star was about to fall and urged them to hurry to the bog to cover their bodies with mud.

Before long, when the sun was high, the day suddenly grew brighter.  The People all looked up in panic and someone shouted, "Look! A second sun is in the sky!" The new star was growing larger, brighter, and hotter as it hurtled toward them. It became so bright that they had to shield their eyes.

The People who had not covered themselves with mud ran for shelter in terror, but it was too late. The star flew down to Earth and blanketed the world with its long, flowing, glowing tail. Tall trees burst into flame like giant torches, lake and rivers began to boil, and even the rocks glowed and shattered from the heat, as terrible fire swallowed up the entire world.

Then suddenly, when the heat was the greatest and the People in the bog thought even they would surely die, the star climbed back up and moved away from Earth.

After the world cooled down, the mud-covered People cautiously came out of the bog to look around. "

Animals Use Mud to Protect from Sunburn:

Cornell Article: Can animals get a sunburn?

" Animals with very little hair covering such as pigs and their relatives, hippopotamuses and warthogs are particularly at risk and they often coat themselves with mud to act as a sunscreen. Rhinoceroses use the same strategy and elephants give themselves dust-baths. "

Animals may use mud and dust as protection or a type of glue stitching for wounds.

Some animals like chinchillas roll in dust to clean their fur, or feathers if they are birds.  This helps remove oil, dirt, and parasites

Ancient Reports: Two Suns

"In ancient times there were two suns. If one went down, the other went on. Since the rising of one sun and the setting of the other always happened within a day, there was no night. It was always brighter day, and the people suffered severely from the great heat. Seeds were sown in the fields, but the seeds did not grow because of the heat. Man ¨was forced to weave protective mats to protect the fields from the rays of the sun."

These could be made from fibrous plants like cattails and by hand, no tools required, should one find themselves in a survival situation. However, many  fibrous plants that grows native in your own region could be used for many of the material goods listed here.

Cattails are also edible and can be used as kindling.

Windstorm Survival:
In the USA, ancient Native Americans had special marker trees that helped them navigate trails. Of particular interests here, they could tie themselves to the trees in severe storms like hurricanes, and use them as protection from high winds. Our survival might depend on getting back to living a simple life in tents and other flexible dwellings, and working with nature, not against her.

Flexible Dwellings Away from Cities Structures:

Tents

Kolbrin Bible

MAN:6:22

"There were nine days of darkness and upheaval, while a tempest raged such as never had been known before. When it passed away, brother buried brother throughout the land. Men rose up against those in authority and fled from the cities to dwell in tents in the outlands."

Ipuwer Papyrus:

Ipuwer Papyrus Translation

Section X

"Destroyed is [. . .] their food is taken from them [. . . through] fear of his terror. The commoner begs [. . .] messenger, but not [. . .] time. He is captured laden with goods and [all his property]is taken away. [. . .] men pass by his door [. . .] the outside of the wall, a shed, and rooms containing falcons. It is the common man who will be vigilant, the day having dawned on him without his dreading it. Men run because of [. . . for] the temple of the head, strained through awoven cloth within the house. What they make are tents, just like the desert folk."

Animal Skin and Leather Tents:

Animal Leather Tents, Wool and Fur for furnishings, carpets, clothing:

Quran:  An Nahal

80. "And Allah has made for you in your homes an abode, and has made for you dwelling (tents)  from the skins of the cattle, which you find light (to carry) on the day when you travel, and on the day when you camp. And of their wool, and their fur, and their hair, (are) furnishings and commodities for a while."

Bible:   The Jewish Tribes lived in tents during their sojourn in the desert after the Exodus and the last Binary Solar System Passover or Crossing. Many other stories talk of people living in tents.

Got Your GOAT!

Food, Fur and Leather, Weed Eaters, Flexible in food and habitat needs

One can live on dairy products, meat, and dried meats and jerky of  goats without worry of refrigeration. Goats are a refrigerator that travels with you.

Goats are hardy animals that can live on a variety of vegetation like grass, shrubs, and other plants. Goats can live in a variety of habitats and elevations, and  may be more adaptable to harsh terrain and mountain areas than other animals. They can live in torrid as well as frigid zones.

Goats can eat a plethora of vegetation including what humans would call weeds, invasive plants, and  poison ivy. Some farmers in the USA use them to eat the weeds on the fence lines of their properties.

During and after the passage of The Binary Solar System, many regions may experience gloomy skies for varied periods of time, along with food growing difficulties.  Some communities may also find themselves closer to waterways, or in new polar regions.  The interim way to survive may be learning how to fish and forage for consumable aquatic life.
As the skies clear, and the land is replenished with volcanic ash fallout and other mineral materials, long term prognosis for farming food look good.
I the might recommend learn permaculture skills now so that we may preserve the new land and soil for generations to come.
